Havyard Group is working on reduction of CO2 emissions on the ships

The shipowners have been looking for new sources of propulsion to reduce CO2 emissions in shipping. Demand generates offer.

A shipbuilding company from Norway, Havyard is working on the technology of hydrogen use for propulsion on big ships.

They have already done some research on the ship’s performance with the use of hydrogen. According to the company, the first version of this system is anticipated to be ready in the following year.

Havyard says that this system will allow vessels navigate without any emissions even on long distances. Moreover, one of the advantages of this system is that it can be adjusted to big and small vessels as well.

An organization dealing with issues of clean transport has reported that technology of hydrogen propulsion on container ships may be already available on regular basis in less than 10 years.
