Collision in Greece causes flooding of two bulkers

After two bulkers have collided within the island territory of Greece, they both are still suffering from flooding.

The local coast guard sent some boats and vessels for pollution prevention at the place of accident.

The coast authorities reported that they had taken measures to minimize possible negative effect from pollution. They have mentioned that some shipowners hired a private company to prevent environmental pollution.

According to the sources, no crew member was injured as a result of collision among 18 people on one bulker and 24 seafarers on the other.

As the latest information suggests the vessels were towed at the anchorage (Greece) and there are some support vessels controlling the situation.
