A fire occurred aboard the MV Höegh Xiamen Ro Ro vessel in USA

On June 5 a fire broke out on board of the MV Höegh Xiamen, on the 6th deck after ship loading operations at Blount Island, Jacksonville, USA. That was confirmed by Norwegian shipowner Höegh Autoliners on the website.

There are no injuries to any of the 21 crew members, who have all been evacuated from the vessel. They noted.

According to Gcaptain, Coast Guard Station Mayport and partner agencies responded to fire on board. Eight fire fighters were injured during the explosion. Four of them are in stable but serious condition. The cause of a fire is still unknown.

The MV Höegh Xiamen is a 600-foot vehicle carrier, 12 250 DWT, built in 2010.
